Corrosion Resistance

Our manufacturing process has been designed to avoid contamination of the stainless steel and produce corrosion resistant welds. Our quality controls catch any potential manufacturing defects that would cause accelerated corrosion of the material. Additional finishing services such as electro polishing, pickling, and passivation can be used to restore the stainless steel's protective chromium oxide layer.
   
 

Design Assistance and Grade Selection

Our engineers can identify opportunities for improvements in your designs. The changes may eliminate the number of pieces for an assembly, or may revise the material specifications based on our knowledge of your application.
   
 

Finishes

Northern is able to produce stainless steel fabrications in a wide variety of finishes. Finishes can be specified by surface roughness, mill finish numbers, or by grinding/polishing process. Whether the finish is aesthetic or for corrosion resistance, our sales team will determine your requirements and ensure we produce products that exceed your expectations.

In addition to grinding and polishing services, Northern also can electropolish or pickle, and passivate fabricated assemblies. These finishing operations are critical to maintaining the corrosion resistance of your parts.
