Northern was the first ProfitKey customer to implement a shop floor computer system.
 

Shop Floor Computers

Our shop floor computing system has improved part quality and reduced lead times for our customers. Using ProfitKey's Rapid Response Manufacturing software, our operators can use the computers to find the highest priority job in their work cell, review customer requirements, view 3D CAD models of the part, and look at pictures of past fixturing and setups for repeat business.

Paper-less Factory

 

 
While we are not quite a paperless factory yet, we certainly have eliminated much of the paperwork on the shop floor. Routings and prints are always up to date. Operators know which operation is scheduled next at each work cell. Progress on each job is instantly recorded back to our ERP software system, giving us accurate and up-to-date information at all times.
